What many may not know is I had given up playing. I would sit and look at my acoustic and want to play, but the pain from my arthritis was just to much. It was just too hard. I’ll admit it... I gave up.
Then I saw what Dave is doing and I wanted to try one so I asked him to make me one . So, he made me really nice one. Since the day it arrived I have played it everyday. It’s so easy to play and I learn something new every time I play it. It has given me the passion for my music back. It’s freakin awesome!!

Full disclosure - I don't even know how to play the guitar but I saw/heard the CBG's Dave was building and had to have one. They're not only great sounding, but they are unique pieces of art. I've known Dave for a few years now, met him through work and we became friends. One day while on a call he randomly told me about 3 string guitars, which i knew nothing about. We talked quite a bit about guitars as I used to play and had not done it since 1997 as I didn't have a guitar anymore. Fast forward two months later Dave texted about guitars he was building and showed me a pic of one he was selling, I immediately said I will take it! Knowing Dave's attention to detail, I was not concerned about seeing it before buying it. Mailed him a check and finally picked it up weeks later! It is awesome and and I love it. I love my Mad Dog cigar box 3 string! I had done a lot of research on the Internet regarding these instruments and came across Dave and his custom craftsmanship. He has a wide range of unique cigar boxes and so many choices for neck material, especially exotic species of wood, bridges, and saddles. I was torn between a Cedar neck that had beautiful yellow and red veining and a Sapele neck with its own distinct variations - I ended up choosing the Sapele since it tied in perfectly with the box I selected. When I received it, it looked and played even better than I anticipated. It's f****** gorgeous - have I told you that I love my Mad Dog guitar?? Vinman S.C.

I first met Dave at the open house at Parkerville Wood Products and saw his display of cigar box guitars. I had recently acquired a cigar box from my mother that was my fathers. Thank you for the coolest guitar I’ve ever seen!!! The quality was amazing and the design was so beautiful. The sound of the guitar was also perfect as it was already tuned for us. The winner of this guitar from our fundraiser was extremely happy with how well it was designed and put together, he has already used it to write a Christmas song! We also loved the Breast Cancer ribbon that was added to the top of the guitar, such a beautiful touch.
